Surname: CURBO, DENMAN, VANN, HALES, HARDIN
-------------------------

I would like to contact anyone who might know the details concerning the
shooting death of my grandfather, JACK CURBO.

The story goes that he was shot by a deputy sheriff from Brady by the name
of "Red" in late Sept. or early Oct. in 1926 in a raid on a gambling house
somewhere in northern McCulloch County.

Jack died from his wounds on October 18, 1926 and my grandmother, Artelia
Curbo, remembered going to a trial or inquest, but couldn't remember where
or exactly when (she thought it was in the spring.)

If anyone has any knowledge of this incident or access to court house records
in Brady and can look it up, our family genealogist would appreciate hearing
if this incident really took place as reported by his brothers to my grandmother.

Jack Curbo is buried in the Winchell Cemetary with his father and mother,
Thomas Marion Curbo and Mattie Price Hardin Curbo.

Thanks, Gerry Rollins
