Caffey
Services for Charles Cleo "Buck" Caffey, 83, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Jack Chelf of First Baptist Church and Rev. Doug Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church officiating. Burial was in Salty Cemetery.
Mr. Caffey died Saturday, Aug. 14, at his home in Rockdale where he lived the past 10 years, after moving from San Marcos.
He was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Santa Ana to Charles Napolean Caffey and Neely T. (Harris) Caffey.
He married Alta Raye Jackson on July 3, 1941, in Pasadena.
Mr. Caffey was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Company H of the 334th Infantry Division, with campaigns in the Rhineland and central Europe.
He was a welder for Brown & Root, a farmer and rancher, and an independent service station operator in Milam County. He also owned a successful construction company in San Marcos for 20 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Caffey was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Claude, J.W. and C.M. Caffey; and a sister, Edith Beyer.
Survivors are his wife, Alta Raye Caffey of Rockdale; two sons, Charles Ray Caffey and wife Neva Jack of Rockdale, Edward Caffey and wife Debbie of San Marcos; two daughters, Linda Biar and husband Jerry, Debbie Leschber and husband Raymond, all of Thorndale; three brothers, Lester Caffey and wife Ladella of Thrall, Bobby Caffey and wife Betty of Thorndale, Billy Caffey of Rockdale; two sisters, Audrey Hughes of Bryan, Sybil Popham of Dublin; a sister-in-law, Bernice Caffey Moore; 11 grandchildren, Charles Derek Caffey and wife April of Rockdale, Kevin Ray Caffey of Bryan, Mark Biar and wife Julie of Thorndale, Wayne Leschber and wife Stacy of Thorndale, Matthew Leschber and wife Jenny of Beaukiss, Clint Leschber and wife Nikki of Thorndale, Rhonda Jordon and husband Craig of Thorndale, Tina Schaefer and husband Scott of Thorndale, Christi Caffey of San Marcos, Diane Caffey of San Marcos, Courtney Caffey of San Marcos; and 17 great-grandchildren, Colton, Austin and Brandi Ca!

Charles Cleo "Buck" Caffey
Charles Cleo "Buck" Caffey, 83, died Aug. 14 at his home in Rockdale. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Jack Chelf and the Rev. Doug Springer officiating. Burial followed in the Salty Cemetery.
