The Gregg County Genealogy Society of East Texas will meet Tuesday, October
1, at the Longview Public Library. Personal genealogical sharing and
visiting among members begins at 6:30 PM with the business meeting and
program at 7:00 PM. Visitors are always welcome.

Out program will be "Writing what you know, even though you cannot write,"
presented by Willie A. Williams, Longview, Texas. Willie is a retired
teacher from the Marshall, Texas Independent School District and the Bureau
of Indian Affairs, Gallup, New Mexico. He is a graduate of Wiley College
of Marshall, Texas and he has done graduate study at New York University,
Stephen F. Austin University and Prairie View State University. He has
written histories for St. Mark CME Church, Longview, and Lewis Chapel UMC,
Lodi, Texas. He has just forwarded his 2001 book COUSINS, ULTD to his
printer for publication.

Willie is married to Trula Sloan Williams of Domino, Cass County, Texas.
They are members of Wesley-McCabe UMC, Longview. He is also a member of
the Gregg County Historical Commission and is Vice President of the Gregg
County Genealogy Society.
