Am I understanding that this Collier Book was done in 1976? In November 2002
I went to this Cemetery and took digital pictures of most stones that were
standing or lying face up. Many stones are face down. I probably missed a
few but have pictures of most stones that were possible to take pictures of.
Since I never knew a proper name for this Cemetery I have called it "Markum
Cemetery". It is on private property so you would need permission and
probably help to find it! Apparently it was unfenced for a time as cattle
have knocked over many of the stones. It was fenced when I was there.
Also there is a small Black cemetery about 100 yards from this Cemetery.

This is the direction in the Collier book.
Ware - Griffin - Markham Cemetery - depart Nixon, Texas on Hwy. 80, South,
pass road side park on left (2.6 miles), pass mail box #9 on right side of
road & turn into private road on right (4.0 miles from Nixon) over cattle
guard, sign on fence (Cattle Association - Don Finch). Drive by left side of
house & pass a stock tank, turn left through gate & drive about 100 yards to
cemetery.
Does this direction mean anything as to the location. I was in Nixon about
7 years ago but did not have this information with and was unable to find
it. I don't think I traveled 4 mile on Hwy. 80.
By the way the name Don Finch's name was used in 1976 when Elmer Coller put
his book together.
