Subject: Any Relatives Out There???
Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2005 10:25:30 EDT

The activity on this list has been incredible!

I'm looking for any information on the following persons. I don't believe
there will be any relatives, but any information is appreciated.

Gertrude Kickham Hendrick(s) (born in Ireland; married John Kane Hendrick
and moved to Texas)
John Kane Hendrick(s) (born in Ireland; served at Camp Cooper in West Texas;
fought in Civil War; settled in Texas)

their daughters, born in Wilson County:
Mary Hendrick Hodges (her son: John Hodges) -- Mary's DOB 7/2/1877
Angela Hendrick (never married) -- DOB: 9/29/1878
Veronica Hendrick (never married) -- DOB: 4/21/1881

John was influential in the building of St. Mary's Catholic Church. John
died in 1887, under suspicious circumstances. His wife and daughters continued
to live in the area and eventually purchased land and a home in Sutherland
Springs.

I am especially interested in any information about Rev. J.H. Daine. Father
Daine served as priest at Sacred Heart Church, Floresville, and then at St.
Mary's Church around 1882-1885. In 1885, the church was notified in writing
that Rev. Daine was an impostor and should no longer be allowed to perform
the duties of the priest. This information is outlined in the written history
of St. Mary's Church.

J.H. Daine is frequently mentioned in the diaries written by Gertrude
Hendrick.

Any information is greatly appreciated.
