Thanks for your response to my inquiry.
Some of the things you mentioned sound somewhat familiar to me but not
exactly.

First of all, Martha was a daughter of Friedrich and Karoline Moegelin.
Her parents purchased land near Elmendorf in 1883 (the same day they sold their
land in Comal Co.).

The reason I got excited about your mention of Martha McClean marrying a
Clemente Trevino is because the proper German pronunciation of Moegelin sounds
very much like McClean, McLean, etc. In fact, two of the Moegelins served in
the Civil War under the name McLean. After the war they went back to the
correct spelling of their names.

I have gathered most of the following information since my last
correspondence with you a number of months ago, thanks to the efforts of Sarah who
located the Trevino Cemetery and took pictures of many of the headstones.
The information that I have indicates that Clemente F. Trevino (Feb. 23,
1855 - Feb. 23, 1921) and Martha Moegelin (May 31, 1868 - Dec. 5, 1952) were
married on Sep. 10, 1887. (Book I, Page 522 #9072 of the Bexar Co. Marriage
Records.)
As best I can determine they always lived in the vicinity of Elmendorf
and their children were John Clemente Trevino (Jan. 10, 1890 - Nov. 5, 1939),
Mary,
Jane (married a Mora),
Helena,
Alvina (married Leonicio Martinez),
Martha (also married a Martinez),
Eva (married a Vega),
Elizabeth,
Isabel (married Salvador Borrego)
Bertha (married a Rymers).
I found a notation in my files that Clemente's death certificate # is
5859 and Marta M. (Martha) is recorded under death certificate # 57873. It would
be interesting to know what information is recorded on those death
certificates but I just have not taken the time, effort or expense to get copies of them.

By the way, in what issue of Los Bexarenos are the church records
published? Our local library subscribes to it so I could look at those records the
next time I visit the library.
