Ms. Gonzales's extracts of the _Wise County Messanger_ contains the
following:

28 Mar 1902
"John Branch was in town Friday and informed us that his mother, Mrs. A. A.
Branch had died very suddenly the Monday before... She was 66 years, 10
months, and 10 days of age. She had lived that neighborhood 25 years. Her
burial took place at the Sycamore cemetery on Tuesday."

A perpetual calendar calculator determined that 28 Mar 1902 was Friday. So,
is it possible to tell if John Malcom Branch was in town on 28 Mar 1902, or
on 21 Mar 1902? Did Annie A. Owens Branch die on Monday, 24 Mar 1902, or on
Monday, 17 Mar 1902? Was her birthdate May 14, 1835, or May 7, 1835?

Also, when somebody died at 66 years, 10 months, and 10 days, did that mean
she was on the 11th, uncompleted day when she died, or on the uncompleted
10th day?

The "She had lived that neighborhood 25 years" would seem to put John
Malcom's family's arrival in Wise County about 1877, not about 1896. This
fits with the 1880 census data.

Jessie H. Branch was the husband of Annie A. Owens Branch.

Thank you! Alison Stevens
...most _extremely_ probably but maybe not provably descended from John
Malcom Branch's aunt. Burnt records, mistaken records and missing records
are taking their toll!
