On April 1,1998 a John and Margaret Crist request info. on the U.S.S.
Argentina. That loaded troops in Italy in July 1945 and returned to New York.
Question: Are you sure this was a U.S.S. Argentina. Or was it U.S.A.T. Argentina
There were three U.S. Passenger Ships operated by Moore-McCormack Lines of
New York. That were taken over by the U.S.A.T.( United States Army
Transportation Services) Which were the S.S. Brazil ( ex Virginia) S.S.
Uruguay ( ex Califorina) and the S.S. Argentina ( ex Pennsylvania )
U.S.S. stands for United States Naval vessel
