The best account I have ever read of a journey around Cape Horn is in the
novel "Hawaii" by James Michener (New England missionaries going to Hawaii in
a sailing ship). A terrible journey, which, if I remember correctly, took
about six weeks! There was a film made of it, with Julie Andrews (not a
musical!), which showed something of what it must have been like. Well worth
reading, though.
