Hello Janet,
Have a book on shipwrecks at Long Point along the Ontario side of Lake Erie,
called "Long Point Last Port of Call" by Dave Stone, The Boston Mill Press,
1988. ISBN 0-919783-59-7. Looked on a map that indicates the location of
shipwrecks, for those listed occurring in 1875 and found the following names.
Dan Marble - schooner
Hannaford - barge
Persian - freighter
No exact dates are listed for these wrecks, just the year, name and type of
the ship. This is all the information listed for these but there are several
more shipwrecks within a few years of 1875, that the book goes into more
detail. Hope this may be of some help to you, all the best in your research.
