I discovered my great great grandfather Joseph Nichols arrived on 20 May
1873 in
Boston,Massachusetts on the Steamer Siberia from Liverpool a couple weeks
ago.

I asked the list for help finding more info. Many thanks to Ted Finch and
Robert Pelligrine (on the list) for providing me with information. Ted sent
me a description of the ship, and Robert sent me (in the mail) a picture,
the description, and some background on the Cunard line, as well as a picture
of what "deck life" was like in 1873.(WOW!!!) My thanks go out to both of
you for your help.

To those of you still searching, don't give up! My great great grandfather
was NOT listed in the index of Boston arrivals (microfilm). I went through
all possible spellings. I finally rented the microfilm of dates before his
first listing in Boston City directory......and it was time consuming going
through the passenger lists....but I found him and his family! So, don't
give up!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for everyone's suggestions and information!

(I just found out today after
searching the entire roll of microfilm!!!..because he was NOT on the index
of arrivals in the port of Boston)

Could some one point me in the direction to find more info on the
Siberia......
description, picture, etc

Thanks VERY much
