Hi Linda,
Do you know _when_ in April your grandfather departed Trondheim? If it was
early, then Halifax or Saint John would be the arrival port, but if it was
later, then Quebec would be the port of arrival.
Reel # Ship Name Departure Arrival
T-499 TUNISIAN Liverpool, England 1905-04-13 Halifax, N.S. 1905-04-21
St. John, N.B. 1905-04-23
T-484 TUNISIAN Liverpool, England 1905-05-18 Quebec, Que. 1905-05-27
(A) Allan Line Steamship Co.
I suspect though it was Halifax, for if he departed Trondheim in April, it
would be unlikely that he would wait until May 18th to depart Liverpool.
He would have been a transmigrant through England. He would have boarded a
Wilson Line "feeder" ship in Trondheim, and sailed to probably Hull,
England. From there, he took the train to Liverpool (about 7 to 7 1/2
hours by train) to check the Wilson Line ships visit the S&S -- also check
"transmigration through Hull" from the Wilson Line link

The passenger manifest is on Microfilm at the National Archives of Canada
[NAC], in Ottawa. The Ships are placed on the reel, in order of arrival.
You can borrow this reel on an Inter Library Loan [ILL]. You can find the
details for this procedure at this NAC Genealogy Research URL
http://www.archives.ca/exec/naweb.dll?fs&020202&e&top&0
You are also able to ILL from Ottawa, to libraries in the US, and outside
North America. These microfilms contain arrivals from ALL ports, they are
not indexed. The LDS do not currently have copies of the post-1900 Canadian
arrivals.
Good Luck,
Sue
