Hi List,

Of course the BIG news last week was that we had added a SEARCH ENGINE!
Now we just have to figure out how often it "refreshes." The new "The
Fleets" uploads are not searchable yet.

The FLEETS - Companies and their vessels
http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/fleets.html
(this is a work in progress, so keep checking back)
New:
o Pacific Steam Navigation Company
o Union Steamship Company

Ships:
These links have been re-organised for easier navigation.
A Q&A page has been included and we'll gladly accept suggestions
for any more "Q" and we will endeavour to find and "A." :-}
(I've asked thrice for "Q" suggestions, and haven't received a
single one!!!!)

1847 - still looking for volunteer input for our 1847 pages ...

Gery and I spent two days this week in Miramichi, N.B. and have some great
stuff for the 1847 project. We also learned that "General Tom Thumb" who
shows up with P.T. Barnum in the December 1847 issue of the New Orleans
Picayune (which we have online in our 1847 pages) was in the Miramichi in
about 1850! They stayed with the local barber! When they left, the
"General" had left a boot behind! It is on display at the Miramichi
museum! You wouldn't believe how tiny it is! Also, Marj is finding some
wonderful stuff in the 1862 Illustrated London News (for example) Now we
just have to get it all entered into the computer, and uploaded. :-}

Please contact:

Thanks everyone! Enjoy!
