If a woman was recently married she might prefer to use her maiden name,
because that's what her idenntification papers would say is her name.
Also, she might have purchased the ticket under her maiden name.
Also, a few women throughout history have kept their maiden name after
marriage, for business reasons, for example, or if she was an author, an
actress, a lawyer, etc.
It's unusual but not unheard of for a married woman to use her maiden name
for specific purposes.
