Fretz <> asked whether the Emma and Susanna Svenson
who sailed from Goteborg to Hull on 19 May 1882 could be the Emma and
Susanna Svenson who arrived in New York on 6 June 1882 on The Queen.

This sounds quite likely to me. It has taken a long time for TSL
members to think transmigration :-) and certainly the most usual route
was via Hull and Liverpool. However many other East and West coast
ports were used. I have certainly seen parties of Scandinavians on
ships from London to Quebec, but always assumed they had arrived at
London or Harwich.
It would be interesting to take a sample and check with the Swedish
departure records and see if they indicate a shipping agent or line.
As to the two women being separated on the passenger list, that
doesn't seem significant.
