Hi Ann,
In a perfect world _maybe_ but the poster of the message is the person who
writes the "Subject" in the "Subject Line." As this list is primarily
about SHIPS, then those are what we like to see in the Subject Line. As
you have noticed, we can't even get _some_ people to change their subject
from Re: TheShipsList-D Digest V01 #xxx to something more meaningful, so I
think such an undertaking would be a little like "herding cats." <grin>
btw. I _strongly_ advise AGAINST beginning a message with a numeral (such
as the year eg. 1870) as for some reason, "smartlist" the server which
handles list mail, does NOT like it, and often bounces the perfectly good
messages to my admin address, unprocessed. When this happens, I have to
manually add the [TSL] and re-direct the poster's message TO the list ...
this manages to fool "Smartlist" into thinking HE has already okayed the
message. And you thought I just sat here all day and twiddled my thumbs!
