I thought I found "gold" in a story I found written by my great grandfathers
sister.
In one section of the story she tells of my great great grandfather leaving
Rotterdam March 28, 1867, and arriving in the port of New York may 6th. In
another part of the story she speaks of him with his wife and 2 children
coming in 1866. One of the children died and was buried at sea. My great
great grandfather was Christian Hartjes or Hartjens. His wife was Helena
Vandenberg and the child that died was Peter(maybe Petrus). The other child
was Martin(Martinus) They may have come over with some of Christians siblings
as they all ended up in Little Chute Wisconsin.
Any help would be appreciated. Mike
