Hello Jeannette,
The Family History Library has numerous city directories available on
microfilm for Philadelphia. Do a place search for Philadelphia here...

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp

and then look at the "directories" topic. You can order the microfilm
from any local Family History Center for viewing for a small fee. Go
here to find a Family History Center near you...

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp

You should search the online Ellis Island Database for the passenger
arrival of your ancestors. Easy way...

Hard way...

http://www.ellisislandrecords.com/default.asp

If you can't find them in the Ellis Island Database then Italians to
America may be helpful if you have access to the books. Ask at your
local library...

You also might want to look at the 1900 census.

Good luck with your search.

Regards,
Joe
