I am trying to research my g-grandmother who emigrated from Germany in 1873
and settled in Wisconsin. I believe that she did not become naturalized as
she had a Registration Book that she had to carry around with her during WWI.
According to her daughter's marriage record it says that her name was Johanna
Praefal. However, I have a cousin that believes her name was Johanna Krirpas.
I have searched many websites with both surnames and can't come up with
anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible that there are different
spellings of these surnames, Krirpas or Praefal? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
