Hi everyone. I am new to this site and I am in need of help. I have come to
a grinding halt in searching for information on my ggrandparents.
It isn't a lot of info but here goes.
Both ggrandparents were from Ire. I believe The Irish Republic. My
ggrandfather's name was Andrew Lennon
wife Jane Woods
They had 2 young children with them Harry Lennon and Andrew Lennon.
According to a family member they landed in NYC the spring or summer of 1872
and immediately travelled to Montreal Canada where another Lennon resided
also an Andrew Lennon a cobbler by trade. My ggrandfather worked in this
trade here so he perhaps was also a cobbler or leather worker.
Within a few months of their arrival a third son was born , my grandfather
Walter Stanley Lennon. The story goes that my grandfather barely missed being
born at sea or in NYC.
I have not discounted the fact that it is possible they landed in Quebec City
or Montreal as my sisters memory is slightly different from mine so all
avenues are open concerning immigration. We have no family members still
alive so can't get the details straightened out.Hope I can get some help.
Thanks, Sue Lennon Gall
Montreal Canada
