Hi Beaconhillfarm,

Canada began archiving passenger lists in 1865 for the port of Quebec.
There is no *real* index of Canadian arrivals at this time. There is a
nominal card index, but the results of searching those reels can sometimes
yield interesting results. The reels don't cover the full period, but are
arranged by year, so it would require reading film for each year.

The LDS also have copies of the 1865-1869 index reels with film numbers
ranging from 1818591 to 1819274 but the numbers jump around a bit, so if
you are using the lDS then use those numbers as a guide to get you to the
film(s) you would need for "Devoti." Here are the passenger list films for
the same period (through to 1870)
For the port of Quebec:
Film # 0889440 to 0889467 for the years 1865 to 1899
LDS number 0889440 ~ 1865
LDS number 0889441 ~ 1866
LDS number 0889442 ~ 1867
LDS number 0889443 ~ 1868
LDS number 0889444 ~ 1869
LDS number 0889445 ~ 1870

Good luck!

Sue
