"Bill" <> asks about the voyage of the Saxonia
which arrived at New York, December 7, 1863.

Here is the voyage report, New York Times, December 7, 1863 (microfilm)

Arrived Sunday December 6

Steamship Saxonia (Hamb.,) [captain] Trautmann, Hamburg via Southampton
Nov. 18 at 5 P.M., with mdse and 532 passengers to [agents] Kunhardt
& Co. Experienced strong Westerly gales throughout the entire passage,
Dec. 4, lat 41 56 lon 63 41 passed a Cunard steamer bound E.

Note the departure port was Hamburg. Marseilles is a common error in
the CD versions of Germans to America.

Manifests are rarely available online. Normally New York manifests are
ordered through the LDS.
