Subject: [TSL] General Hewitt & S.S. Otranto

1. "John Sledge, and his wife Caroline, arrived (from the U.K.) in Sydney,
N.S.W. on the ship "General Hewitt", which was an assisted immigrant ship,
on the 13 November, 1848."

2. "Edmund and Grace PITTS, daughter Dorothy and her brother, James Pitts,
boarded the "S.S Otranto" at London for subsequent disembarkment at
Maryborough in Queensland. There were 5 passengers for Maryborough. The
ship arrived in Brisbane on 8th June, 1914".

Can anyone help me with information on these ships, or, alternatively,
suggest
where I can look? Thank you.
