Subject: [TSL] Ship Name, Departure Date and Passenger List For John and Mariah Martin

Dear Listers:

I am searching for the exact ship, embarkation date, and passenger list
for my great grand parents , John and Mariah Martin. They emigrated from
Ireland, to Halifax, with 14 children, in either 1890, or 1891. They had a
daughter in Monaghan, in May 1890, and another daughter in Toronto, in 1892.

I had assumed that they emigrated in 1891, because of the birth dates of
their 2 daughters described above. However recent 1901 Census records in
Toronto, show that they emigrated in 1890 ( 2 separate entries ).

My mother said they emigrated from Cobh, in Ireland, and arrived in
Halifax. They then took the train from Halifax to Toronto.

I would deeply appreciate receiving any information on they name and
description of the ship they emigrated on, and the exact date of leaving
Cobh, and arriving in Halifax. I have the names of the 14 children, if
they are significant in the search.
