Dear Listers:
I am looking for information on the above ships, sailing from Sligo, Ireland, to Quebec in 1842.
The Truant, Elizabeth, Ceres, and Astrea, sailed in June of 1842, while the Marquis of Normandy sailed in August of 1842.
My great grandparents had a child in late June 1842, in Sligo, and maid there initial down payment on their property in Ontario, on Oct 17 , 1842. These ships are the only ships sailing from Sligo that would allow them to leave after the birth of their daughter and to be in Ontario by Oct 17, 1842.
Relative to the above , I would like the following, or where I can Obtain it. As you might be aware, the Canadian Govt and Nova Scotia/Halifax Govt's do not have this info.
1) Exact dates of ships departures and arrivals.
2) Photo of the ships.
3) Hopefully a passenger list.
Your help in obtaining the above is deeply appreciated.
Kindest Regards,
Jim White
