I am looking for information on George Theobald of Maine, a brother in law
of my great grandmother. He was a ship owner in the latter half of the
19th century, according to a history of the Reed family of Dresden, Maine.
He lived in the Dresden area. I am trying to track ships of his that
went to San Francisco about 1875... looking for John W. Reed, a
step-brother of my great grandmother's -- John was a sailor for George
Theobald at times and I am trying to establish his presence in the area of
Santa Cruz, California in 1875. Long story...

In any case, is anyone familiar with George Theobald? Are there arrival
films for the period of 1870-1880 for San Francisco?
