Hello Bill,
I canot find a German ship named DIAMOND, but there was one named DIAMANT -
could this be your ship? This was a 3,445 gross ton oil tanker, built 1892
for Deutsch-Amerik. Petroleum Co, Hamburg.by Armstrong Mitchell & Co,
Newcastle. In Aug.1914 she was transferred to U.S. registry under the
ownership of Standard Oil Co (New Jersey), New York and renamed PLATURIA.
15th Sep.1917 torpedoed and sunk by U.63 off Tangier while on voyage Genoa -
New York. [Register of Merchant Ships Completed in 1892 by Starke / Schell]
Sorry but cannot help with crew lists.
regards
Ted
