I would not argue with anyone about the visits of Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary to Sydney, because memory does strange things after so long. However, I would have put the visit of the Queen Elizabeth first, in either 1940 or 1941. I remember taking a ride in a launch around the ship as she lay in the harbour. We were not allowed to approach closer than, I think, 60 feet. I also remember seeing the Queen Mary from the Harbour Bridge, I would think a year or two later. I am quite sure that the two ships were not in Sydney together.
If anyone has more definitive information, I would be very interested.
