Margaret,
I checked film T-492 in my database and there are 3 CORSICAN arrivals, bit
fortunately only one for IONIAN, so these must be the arrivals, and this is
the order in which the ships appear on the microfilm. see SARDINIAN in
between them !
Reel Number Ship Name Departure Information Arrival
Information Shipping Line Special Group(s) Remarks
T-492 CORSICAN Liverpool, England 1907-10-03 / Londonderry
(Moville), Ireland 1907-10-04 Quebec, Que. 1907-10-12 / Montreal,
Que. (A) Allan Line Steamship Co., Glasgow Captain Thomas
Pickering; quarantine: list of passengers to Grosse Isle attached
T-492 SARDINIAN London, England 1907-09-[n.d.] / Le Havre, France
1907-09-30 Quebec, Que. 1907-10-14 / Montreal, Que. (A) Allan
Line Steamship Co., Glasgow (O): French; Italian; Bulgarian Captain
Blanchard Henry; ship arrived in port 1907-10-13
T-492 IONIAN Glasgow, Scotland 1907-10-05 Quebec, Que. 1907-10-14 /
Montreal, Que. (A) Allan Line Steamship Co., Glasgow (L): Mr.
Smart's party of Scottish railroad workers to Reid Station & (L): Mr.
Pardener party of Scottish stone cutters and masons to Stanskas & son,
Quebec. & (L): returning cattleman, James Frank 32 Captain James W.
Nunan; list of passengers to Grosse Isle attached; ship arrived in port
1907-10-13; stowaway: John Macpherson 34
As you can see, CORSICAN sailed from Liverpool and IONIAN from Glasgow. I
don't remember anything unusual with this film when I read it (just last
week). I think I may have an idea of what you are seeing though . . . the
manifests were bound and were filmed within their bindings . . they just
flipped a page at a time while filming, so sometimes you can see at the
top, portions of the later pages for other ships. What can be confusing
too, is whether you are reading the film in order, or whether it is
back-to-front. (comment to all microfilm users at the bottom of this email)
Does this give you any hints Margaret? If they sailed from Glasgow, and
the manifest pages include the stonecutters and the stowaway for instance,
then it should be IONIAN. Also, Corsican had about 1150 passengers whereas
Ionian only had about 380.

For every 10 microfilms I read, at least 8 have _not_ been rewound by the
last researcher, so I have to waste time, drag out extra empty reels and
reverse the film. Please researchers . . always be considerate and take a
moment to rewind the film before you remove it from the reader. It would
definitely help too, if libraries bothered to use the unremoveable "take
up" reels. :-{
