In December 1857 the "Marchmont" sailed from surrey Docks for Mobile, USA She was on transatlantic runs carrying cotton & timber Built in Canada and out of Port Glasgow. I see that the name Marchmont is used a lot in Nova Scotia. Does anyonw know of this boat At this time her Capt was David White a native of Scotland
