Germans from Russia are usually listed in the Migration from the
Russian Empire series (also called "Russians to America"). You can read
about the series here...

Also, the major US ports of arrival all have indexes for your 1880s
time frame...

New York and Baltimore were both often used by German-Russian
immigrants. You might also have a Canadian arrival.
