I have been looking in many records and cannot find the ship that WILLIAM
BRUTKUHL came from Germany. He evidently arrived between 1850-1857. He
died in Utah fighting with the US army in 1857. It is believed he came to
New York or Philadelphia and was recruited in the army because of the lack
of jobs in the US. We believe he came from the Westphalia area of Germany.
His grave is in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, Utah. We have looked thru
many ship lists. Maybe someone has found this rare name in their searches.
Any help is appreciated.
