Yes . . details of EUROPA can be found in the Sydney Shipping Gazette
Volume 9, Number 443 (25 September, 1852)

. . she sailed from Liverpool on June 17th with 500 Government
emigrants. All 500 emigrants can be found online here

There are 27 James Lynch in this index, but none on the EUROPA

If you think he was mining in California, then this is indeed a
possibility. In the same issue of the Sydeny Shipping Gazette, you'll find
the details of that voyage and the name of the "Cabin" passengers
Volume 9, Number 443 (25 September, 1852)
Page 267 . . . EUROPE is named as being in port . . comment about having to
put in for supplies
Page 268 . . . details of the ship EUROPE, 567 tons, Captain H. Smith, from
San Francisco July 1st. There were also 100 "unnamed" steerage passengers.
Page 269 . . . an interesting write-up about the voyage which indicates
several letters from the passengers and that it would probably go to a
tribunal so they were with-holding the details "for the present."
http://www.nla.gov.au/ferg/issn/14403897.html
That may be something you may want to follow-up in later issues, as the SSG
would often publish reports from tribunals. I'm sure you'll be able to
find a passenger list for that voyage which will name the 100 steerage
passengers. . . I did find this fellow coming from Melbourne in 1852 (too
early)
