GIRL'S RECORD TRAVEL.
----<o>----
12,000 MILES TO VISIT A BROTHER

The Turkish girl, who left Liverpool yesterday by the
Cunard liner Ausonia for Canada, will at the end of her
travel probably hold the record for any person of her own
age for the longest unaccompanied journey.
She is only fourteen years. Her name is Pareda Solomon,
and she commenced her journey six months ago from her
native place, Mosul. From there she went to Bagdad and
Basra, where she joined a ship for Bombay. She arrived
from Bombay yesterday morning at Liverpool, and three
hours later embarked on the Ausonia. When she reaches
her destination at Fort William, Ontario, she will have
travelled over twelve thousand miles.
She is going to her brother for the purpose of finishing her
education.
