Subject: [TSL] Trying to locate Russina Ancestors
Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2007 20:33:15 +0100
Hi, I have hit a brick wall and do not know where to go from here.
I started my family tree using a (mostly) typed sheet my father sent me. I
believe a family member had documented some of the family history.
However there is one part that has not progressed at all since I do not know
where to look. If anyone could help me then I would be eternally indebted.
The (relevant) details I have are (Formatting is as per the document):
Simon CHARLES born Russia
Died: Buried
Married Bessie MUSHOOITZKY Russia
Bessie born Russia
Died: Buried:
Simon and Cessie CHARLES arrived in Canada, from the Baltic States, Russia
17 April 1893. They lived in the Province of Quebec, County of Rochelege.
Children of Simon and Bessie
Joseph A. CHARLES born 10 Feb 1876 Baltic States, Russia.
Died: 11 Nov 1942, University Hospital Syracuse New York
Buried Syracuse New York
{It then goes on to describe how Joseph migrated from Canada to USA and his
death and children etc etc}
I do not have any idea where to go to search backwards from Simon and
Bessie. Are passenger lists available from Russia to Canada in 1893?
Many Thanks In advance
Penny Blake
