Ok I have a mystery to solve!

I am searching for Mark Barnes and family{ wife, Cassandra Maria meadows born 1821, kids Samuel,Alfred,Mary,Laura and William Woodley born 1853} arriving Victoria 1853, unassisted. It could be a year or two later but I doubt it because of the following.

No luck involved with the following arriving together except weather:)!

Ship arrivals Victoria-

William Miskin OCT 1853 - Sydney M Meadows,Alice Meadows and 6 kids.the http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au has only the Meadows family,Cox family, a single male and the captain on the passenger list?? so I assume the list is not complete??

HAVILAH OCT 1853 - WM Woodley, Mrs Woodley{Charlotte Augusta Meadows} and there 3 kids. The same as above only another family,a couple and the captain??

Now, Mark Barnes came over between 1853 and 1855, Cassandra his wife was sister to Sydney M Meadows and Charlotte A Woodley{nee meadows} so obviously it was a family group thing to come over. Mark Barnes son William Woodley Barnes was born 1853, so Woodley for middle name because of the closeness of the families and maybe the William, but if it was a marine birth the tradition is to name the child after the ship?? so he could be named after the William Miskin?? Mark Barnes was a Chemist/doctor so he could have been a ships Surgeon on the trip.

I could be completely wrong but without having access the above ships micro fiche etc I find it hard to believe even if carrying cargo they had so few passengers, they hold many more passengers later on, with different trips.

As you can see it is an interesting mystery and being unassisted passengers makes it harder to solve.

Any help would be fantastic!

All the above info is at http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au unassited passengers online index. I have tried all the names i can think of{burnes, barns, burns and tried first names and family groups etc etc etc} for the 1852-1855 period as my other work suggests it has to be in that time frame and the latest it could be would be 1857.

Kind Regards to all

Mick
