Tracie

I checked the 1925-34 database at Library and Archives of Canada and
found a Jan Emil Banka, aged 27 from Poland arrived Aug 7, 1926 on
the Pennland at Halifax. The database is at

http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/immigration-1925/001012-100.01-e.php

I do not think that passenger lists for 1926 Halifax are online as yet.

If you know a little European history you will know that parts of
Poland were at one time under German rule so even though the record
says his country of origin is Poland he could still be German.

Regards..

Marj
