Hi

I have an interesting problem. Using find my past I found Joseph Brooks,
engineer leaving with his wife Alice and brother Robert on 19 August 1902
from Liverpool arriving in Canada. Both Joseph and Robert are listed as
engineers. They sailed on the Lake Champlain.

The ship arrived in Canada 29 August 1902 and I found the family but now
Joseph is listed as a farmer and headed for Winnipeg, but from research I
know they went to British Columbia as both Joseph and Robert were railway
engineers.

Why would the Canadian records show farmer and the British show engineer?
Does anyone have an idea.

Thanks for your help.
Jean
