I have encountered a problem with an unknown cause and an unknown solution.
Consider the case of a married couple. Entering date and place information
for the birth and/or death of one person is duplicated on the individual
file for the other spouse. The program (Version 3.10) is handling birth and
death information in a manner similar to what would normally be expected
for marriage information (where entering data for one spouse should
automatically be inserted for the second). Correcting the birth/death data
(for the second spouse) then replaces the data for the first. In other
words, the data for the two persons is always the same, even though it
should be different.
The problem was found as a result of printing a summary of a family for
proofing purposes. The problem possibly originated about six months ago,
and can not be correlated with any unusual event (as best my memory
permits). That situation exists with some other files, but not all of those
in the project. I suspect that I might have to un-install the UFT program
(after making backups of the projects), and then re-install the program
from the CD before attempting to make further corrections. Does anyone have
any other ideas to offer for a solution?
