Susan,
If you select the Event template for the appropriate year you will find that
it has places to enter each person in the pole just as shown on the Census.
Just as does Peg, I find it useful to mention everyone and their role in the
text so that the full household info will show up under each party.
If you later change to TMG, it is my understanding that it only allows one
principal.

I always put the head of household as primary person but not the rest. Then
in the text I put all the information which I find on a census report. Works
for me.
