Bob,
Thanks for the feedback. I have a work around for the time being. I
downloaded the free software "Open Office" which creates files compatible
with Word. It works!
As to the failure of Word 2007 I don't think it was the .docx issue as I
have my default set to .doc. A search on the web leads me to think it may
be a macro issue when UFT tries to write to Office 2007 however I can't
figure out a fix for that yet. Another thread was opened by a replier
wherein she suggests to "delete that file" but no file TmpDDE exists on my
computer.
Regards,
Jerry

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new file extensions
Microsoft introduced in Office 2007. For some reason they introduced
an extra letter to the extension, so that a Word document had the
extension .docx instead of that used in previous versions which
was .doc.
You can disable this new feature and have the Office documents use the
pre 2007 extensions. I cant think of a good reason why they chose to
change this feature other than to make everyone upgrade to the new
version. I set mine back to the pre 2007 extensions and haven't
experienced any problems.
Just a thought.
