Hi Petra

The Withycombe parish records show the family as GRIFFITH, so you're
probably right there.

I thought Bridget's pob was in Kent and began with a B but I couldn't get
any further. I'll take your suggestions and have another look at the
gazeteer in the morning when I'm a bit fresher.

Occupation as Out Pensioner is a stroke of genius! I was floundering around
trying to make it Oat Brewer but I knew that was wishful thinking.
