Hi Janet,

That is in Latin, and the first names have been latinised. I don't know what your rules say about recording latinised names - it would make more sense to record their English equivalent because I sure these people did not run around in thei lifetime being called Richardus, Robertus or Franciscus, but Richard, Robert and Francis!

Some vocabulary:

sepultus est/fuit = is/was buried. For a female, it would say sepulta.

de = of, from

This is the translation:

27 Feb 1662 Richard MIDLETON of Rothwell is buried

Robert WEST late vicar of the church of Rothwell is buried 04 Mar 1662
{Ecclie must be an abbreviation for Ecclesiae meaning "of the church"]

11 Mar 1662 Francis KIDD of Rodes was buried 11 Mar 1662
