names is considering, or his already done, a Y-chromosome test, then please
contact me at the email below, or visit the Grace Files URL for detail on

or via the websitehttp://www.geocities.com/gracefiles
I have had a good response from last weeks enquiry about obtaining US
Currency form Australia. The two most common replies seem to be trying your
local FH Society in Australia, many of whom have a UK Cheque service, or
trying Thomas Cook, the Travel Agents
As from 10th July, the URL for Buckinghamshire Records and Local Studies
Service has changed to:
http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/archives
and the photographic database has changed to:

New Books & CDs
Basic Facts about Using Colindale and Other Newspaper Repositories
Audrey Collins
Published by the Federation of Family History Societies
ISBN: 1 86006 135 4, 16 pages
Price: 1.50 UKP
A new addition to the Federations Basic Facts series this little pamphlet
aims to provide a good basic introduction into newspaper repositories, how
to find them and how to use them. I found that although there was only
sixteen pages they were packed full of useful information about Colindale,
and other repositories, about NEWSPLAN and other indexes as well, detailing
where you might find them. A really useful guide
The Society of Genealogists has published three new volumes in their county
sources series, detailing the county collection of Parish Registers,
marriage licences and nonconformist registers in the SoGs collection. The
three new additions are:
County Sources - Lincolnshire; 44 pages, Price: 3.25 UKP
County Sources Essex, 24 pages, Price 2 UKP
County Sources Sussex, 28 pages, Price 2.50 UKP
Webpage reviews
http://www.friggieri.com/
I really enjoyed this website, as it was particularly fun to navigate,
whilst also being informative and interesting. Maybe I am deviating a little
form websites on British Research, but there are British Connections.
Overall the website copes very well with a family who were emigrating to
many different parts of the world from their origin in Malta, the website
makes it easy to find the branch you are looking for, whilst explaining a
little about each branch. Simple to use, and although there are quite a lot
of graphics even my slow machine copes with them well. This is well worth
having a look at even in the (quite likely) case that you have not any
Friggieri ancestors
http://wotton-under-edge.com/
This is a lovely little website about the Cotswold Town of Wotton under
Edge. Mainly a website for the Town Council and modern day residents and
visitors, it does however give a history of the town, and some lovely
pictures, as well as a map giving locations of churches and monuments. You
will find this site interesting if your ancestors came form this area as it
will give you a wonderful insight into a Cotswold town. Well designed with
clear and accurate information.

Sooner or later every family historian finds an illegitimate ancestor.
This talk will outline how the overcome the obstacles this will create for
your research. Be warned the search will require determination and a lot
of patience!
Ruth Paleys main interests are in the history of Londons police in the
18th century, but she is paid to write about the aristocracy adn the House
of Lords for the History of Parliament. She was formerly an assistant
keeper at the Public Record Office.
Rhian Harris is Curator of the Foundling Museum in London.
