New Books & CDs

The Genealogists Internet
By Peter Christian, published by the Public Record Office
A substantial and comprehensive look at the Internet and its uses for family
history. A nice book, rather pricey at 9.99 UKP but still a worthwhile
investment, should be available from all good genealogical suppliers

British Family History on CD
By Stuart Raymond
Published by the Federation of Family History Societies
A useful directory of published CD’s in the UK, with supplier details and
addresses. Basically little more than a catalogue, but from various sources,
and the information is not available elsewhere. Priced at 5.95 UKP, should
be available from your usual genealogical supplier

Webpage reviews

http://www.kasresearch.com/Mis/MIslist.htm
A superb site in development. This is a collection of Monumental
Inscriptions for the Kent area, collected by Leland Duncan in the 1920’s and
1930’s they have been transcribed by members of the Kent Archaeological
Society. Nicely laid out and very simple to use and understand this is
again, a superb resource on line (or will be when fully developed) They have
even been so nice as to show the size of the page for each churchyard,
meaning you can be well aware of the download times, well done!

A nice , if somewhat frivolous look at Yorkshire, this site contains quite a
bit of information about Yorkshire and will be very useful to people
researching in Yorkshire who know little of the area. Most of the
information is geographical, and most of the picture (some of which are too
large!) are modern, but you may still find the site very useful
