WEBPAGE REVIEWS

http://kildare.ie/hospitality/historyandheritage/AthyHeritage/index.htm
The webpage of the Athy historical centre in County
Kildare, Ireland. A nice little website with details
of the history of the area, including men who served
in World War One. There is also information on Ernest
Shackleton. There is plenty of information on this
site, which will be of interest to anyone whose
ancestors came from this part of Ireland. Easy to use
and navigate the website is very well designed.

http://www.scottishdocuments.com/content/default.asp
Scottishdocuments.com is a very professional, well
designed website with a database index of over 300,
000 names from Scottish wills. The site is very, very
easy to use, and the search mechanism is quick,
displaying the results in an effective manner. At the
moment you can only search the index, but it would
appear that future development will be the
availability of images online, for a fee. You can
obtain copies by post from the site which is OK – but
the site will be much better when you can do
everything online. A nice site overall and a welcome
development for searching Scottish records online

http://www.swanseahistoryweb.org.uk/
The Swansea local history web. This site seems to
contain a vast amount of information on Swansea and
the surrounding area. Unfortunately for some reason
many of the pages are password protected forcing you
to subscribe to the newsletter to get a password,
something I always think is unnecessarily
bureaucratic! There does seem to be an awful lot of
information about the local area though. The pages
took a while to download, and navigating the site was
a bit slow. Worth looking at if you have plenty of
ancestors in the area!
