GENUKI FAMILY HISTORY NEWS
No 110

18th September 2002

Hi Everyone and welcome to this weeks GENUKI Family
History News

You might notice that this weeks issue is a little
shorter, and slightly different from normal. Well my
laptop finally succumbed to IT fatigue and lost a few
files (well nearly all of them actually!) and my son
in his youthful exuberance managed to find my back up
disk. Apparently they make good frisbees, but this is
not recommended use for the data! Henceforth this
issue is being redone from scratch! In the long run
this will be a good thing but has led to a short issue
this week!

Still, I hope you enjoy!

WEBPAGE REVIEWS

http://website.lineone.net/~peter.bond/
This was quite an interesting website devoted to the
Bond family. I found the design and navigation a
little problematic, and indeed slow to load. However
once original problems with loading were passed the
website turned into a fascinating, often narrative
journey through a family history. I particularly liked
the narrative of the journey to Erth Barton, it is a
somewhat amusing and very alive tale of researching in
the Cornish countryside. An interesting website that
could do with being a little plainer in design but
otherwise excellent

http://www.badsey.net/index.htm
This is almost certainly the best village website I
have come across for family history researchers. It
relates to the parish of Badsey in Worcestershire. The
website contains many details of modern day Badsey but
the Gem of the site is the family history information.
Censuses from 1841 to 1901 – cross indexed, parish
register information covering a wide range of years –
all of which is indexed. This really is an absolutely
superb site. The added bonus is that the design and
navigation of the site is about a s good as it gets
too, plain and simple and exceptionally easy to use.
Fantastic.

If this is of use to you in your own personal
research, drop me a line
At and I will put you
in touch with the current holder
Meanwhile, if you have a certificate you don't need
that may be of use to someone else then drop me a
line, and we will advertise it in an upcoming
newsletter .

We have changed the certificate system a little, to
give hopefully an added opportunity for sharing
information. If you have a spare certificate that is
of no use to you at all then you can either send me
the details, as normal, or send me the certificate. If
the certificate is sent to me then it will be sent on
to any enquiries. All spare certificates sent to me
will have their details registered on Free BMD. After
six months if nobody has claimed the certificates as
interesting to their research then they will be
deposited at the SoG library. I will however keep all
the details of the certificate on file and pass them
on to any relevant one name studies registered with
the Guild of One Name Studies.

The address for spare certificates to be sent to is:
GFHN, 66 Northern Road, Aylesbury, HP19 9QY
