Thank you for this opportunity. I had put this side of the family 'on hold'
but your suggestion promted me to have a go.

My gggrandfather Thomas GREAVES / GRAVES appears on the 1881 census for
Grasmere as a shoemaker aged 70 born in Tilberthwaite. I would like to track
down his birth (In 1811 if the census entry was correct), his marriage to
Agnes Cornthwaite (61) (from Elterwater)and the births of their children
Elizabeth, Hannah, Agnes, Dinah, Benjamin, Mary Jane (31), John, Anna Maria,
Martha and Harriet.

I am descended from the above Elizabeth who appears on the 1881 census (aged
21 born Elterwater) living with her husband Alexander McKenzie CARR (from
Maryport) in Arlecdon.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Sylvia Walker
