Hi everyone

I have recently started a new Rootsweb mailing list for old UK newspaper
extracts. I have a collection of old newspapers for various parts of the
UK, mainly Liverpool but for some time have been collecting papers from
other parts of the UK. I've been putting the extracts from my Liverpool
papers online as many of you will know - or you may not!

I'm hoping that in time we'll have subscribers to the
UK-NEWSPAPER-EXTRACTS-L who will also contribute BMD's, articles,
inquests, snippets etc if they have any old newspapers from any area of
the UK, I would hate to be the only one contributing.

I do need contributions from others for it to become a good resource for
genealogy researchers. I am constantly mailed by genealogists
researching in the UK asking me if I have newspapers for other parts of
the UK, so there is obviously a need for such a list. I know that
subscribers to other lists do post old news snippets to lists relevant
to the area of their own research, so I'm hoping that they can also
subscribe to the UK-NEWSPAPER-EXTRACTS-L list and include the address of
our list when they are submitting such snippets to their own list(s)
