Hello Jan
That's great news. I have been trying to find out about this hospital for
ages. It also ties in very nicely with the fact that Thomas Hawke was an
engine Driver in one of the collieries in Aberdare (I just need to find out
which one now). Many thanks for your help.
Best Wishes
Kim

Hello Kim,
The area down Abernant Road by the junction with Cwmbach Road (in Aberdare)
was known as "The Trap" and this is where Trap Road Hospital was located. It
was a small hospital basically for the local miners etc ...
I have further info being sent to me with a photograph etc and will pass
that on when it arrives.
You don't have ancestors from Glyncorrwg do you:-)
Hope this helps, Jan

which was in Aberdare. I had an ancestor whose address in the 1881 census
was given as 23A Trap Road Hospital. As I understand it the place was run by
Nuns. Any further information would be much appreciated.
